While the main event is Saturday, October 12, 11:30 am - 2:00 pm in Potter's Alley, you can purchase tickets for a bowl online any time. By purchasing a ticket for $20 you will receive a beautiful handmade bowl. You may also wish to purchase a bowl koozie for $10. The koozies will be available on October 12 at the event. Given the national inflation rate at 20%, we are most in need of funds to purchase food for distribution. The cost of a bag of food has almost doubled. Plus, it is harder to buy enough food at the Central Texas Food Bank. They are already stretched way too thin. We do receive food drives but honestly it just isn’t enough. So we find ourselves purchasing food at retail prices BUT the situation is even more grim when you consider that the large retailers are not willing to sell us the amount of groceries we need for routine distribution. Stop to do the math for one month’s pantry service. If we low ball the number served at 400 a week and we put 10 items in each bag, that it is 40,000 items needed per week. We have to cut that short when we can’t get enough to properly distribute. We are trusting our Good Shepherd to give us favor and an overwhelming success on our 6th Annual Empty Bowl FUNdraiser this year!! Thank you for standing with us!!
